Nguyen Hue Flower Street rings in Year of the Pig

HCMC - The bustling Nguyen Hue Boulevard in District 1 of HCMC has been transformed into a flower street with the theme “HCMC – Aspiration for a bright future” to ring in the Year of the Pig, becoming an attractive venue for the citizens during this Lunar New Year holiday (Tet).

With a total length of 720 meters, the flower street, which is formally opened tonight, February 2, features various kinds of flower, majestic scenes and beautiful miniatures.

Highlights of the street are statues of the pig, the zodiac sign of the upcoming lunar year, which are painted with fun colors, bringing a sense of excitement, joy and fullness.

Visitors will also see the images of Ben Thanh Market as the most well known market in the city, boats full of flowers, sea animals, banh chung and banh tet (stuffed sticky rice cake), and fruit.

Nguyen Hue Flower Street is an annual week-long event during Tet that attracts millions of visitors. It has become a major cultural event in the city for the citizens to spend the glamorous Tet atmosphere with their friends and family, take pictures to preserve their sweetest memories, and hope for health, happiness and prosperity for the entire year.

The flower street will be running until February 8.
