HCMC - Chon’s Auction House is organizing a traditional lacquer art exhibition in Hanoi, featuring 100 lacquer paintings by 100 artists.

The Vietnam Book of Records has recognized the event as “the biggest exhibition of traditional lacquer art by the number of participating artists”, according to the Vietnam News Agency.

In addition to artworks by the Vietnamese artists from different generations such as Nguyen Huyen, Nguyen Tien Chung, Van Binh, Tran Van Ha, Can Manh Tuong, and Ngo Minh Cau, the exhibition features works by Saeko Ando, a resident Japanese artist in Vietnam.

“The exhibition is a chance for us to honor Vietnamese lacquer painters and their achievements, and demonstrate our efforts to promote lacquer art in particular and Vietnamese fine arts in general,” said Nguyen Xuan Cuong, president of Chon’s Auction House.

The exhibition runs until March 28 at 63 Ham Long Street, Hanoi.
