HCMC – The advisory council for granting the registration for medicine circulation under the Ministry of Health has proposed the ministry approve two Covid-19 vaccines made in the United States and Russia for use in the country.

These comprise the vaccine produced by United States vaccine maker Moderna and another developed by Generium, one of Russia’s leading drug makers. The two vaccines will be used to cope with the urgent demand in Vietnam to fight the coronavirus pandemic, Thanh Nien Online reported, citing the advisory council.

The advisory council had earlier given the go-ahead for British drugmaker AstraZeneca’s Covid-19 vaccine for use in Vietnam. As such, over 117,000 doses of the vaccine arrived at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport in HCMC on February 24.
