Vietnam reports four new Covid-19 cases

HCMC - The Health Ministry has reported four fresh Covid-19 patients, including three cases by community transmission, sending Vietnam’s tally to 2,914 as of this morning, April 30.

Hanoi had one new case, who is a man residing in Viet Hung Commune, Dong Anh District. He joined a party with the 2,899th patient in Vinh Tru Town, Ha Nam Province on April 22. The patient is being treated at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

Two of the new cases were reported in Hung Yen Province, including a two-year-old girl and a woman, both from Tien Tien Commune, Phu Cu District.

The little child had close contact with the 2,899th patient on April 22, while the woman is grandmother of the 2,912th patient. Both of them are undergoing treatment at the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases.

The imported case is a woman residing in Cam Le District, Danang City. She returned to Vietnam though the Lao Bao Border Gate on April 27 and was immediately quarantined after arriving in Quang Tri Province. The patient has been sent to Quang Tri Hospital for Lung Diseases for treatment.

Up to now, 2,516 Covid-19 patients in the country have fully recovered. More than 37,000 people who had close contact with Covid-19 patients or returned from pandemic-hit countries are being quarantined. As of April 29, more than 506,000 people in the country had been vaccinated against Covid-19.
