HCMC - French consulting firm ACT has issued a safety certificate for the Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line project in Hanoi, which the Ministry of Transport said was important for it and the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Works to check and take over the project.

The ministry has submitted a report on the acceptance of the project to the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Works and the council will announce the investor’s acceptance results after the holidays of Reunification Day on April 30 and International Labor Day on May 1, news site VnExpress reported.

After the council accepts the results, the project will be handed over to the Hanoi government for commercial operation in May.

The construction and equipment installation for the project have been completed. Since early April, the Railway Project Management Board under the Ministry of Transport and Metro Hanoi Co., Ltd have received documents and checked the assets of the project handed over by the Chinese contractor. The relevant units have also coordinated over acting on recommendations of the independent consulting firm.

After a decade, the 13-kilometer Cat Linh-Ha Dong metro line project with 12 elevated stations, 16 depots and a green landscape finally stands completed. In December last year, the project was operated on a trial basis.

The Ministry of Transport and the Hanoi government had earlier planned to put the project into commercial operation on April 30. Over the past month, the ministry, the Hanoi government and other relevant agencies have striven to reach the target.

However, they failed to meet the target due to the dependence on the acceptance document consideration and assessment of consulting firm ACT and the State Council for Acceptance of Construction Works.
